Seminars with focus on CSR

29.05.2012  05:07
More than 100 delegates from Danish/Vietnamese Joint Ventures and Danish companies will gather on 30 May in Hanoi and on 31 May 2012 in HCMC. The companies will share knowledge and learn how to deal with and improve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The private sector is increasingly taking part in setting the agenda for greater focus on social and environmental issues. Realising the benefits, more Danish companies have started to focus on CSR and the positive impact on society through economic, environmental and social actions. CSR is, among other things, affecting brand equity and reputation, long term sustainability and offering value proposition.
CSR is the way companies manage their businesses to create an overall series of good practices. However, many companies want to take CSR a step further as they have realized the importance of improving workers conditions, protecting the environment and acting ethically correct in their behaviour. Not only does it benefit worker conditions and the environment, in fact, companies see their efforts as a competitive advantage improving overall performance.

Through these seminars on CSR, the Danish Embassy in Vietnam seeks to encourage companies to reap the benefits of CSR by introducing practical tools on how to self-assess companies and acknowledge the potential for improvements on social and environmental practices.

The Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Mr John Nielsen will give an opening speech followed by an introduction to CSR by CSR Counsellor Mr Søren A. Albertsen from the Danish Embassy in China. Some examples of CSR implementation will be shared by Mascot Vietnam, eSoftflow and Viking.

The seminar in Hanoi will be held at the Danish Embassy and in HCMC the seminar will be at Hotel Intercontinental.
