Zero Tolerance Policy

Danida has set out to fight corruption in cooperation with partners.

Danida is determined to maintain the highest standards of integrity and work ethics among our staff and across all areas of activity. We therefore maintain a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption in all its forms and react promptly when abuse of Danish funds is suspected or discovered. This policy is maintained in cooperation with our partners.

With this poster the Embassy in Hanoi sends a clear signal to all partners: We do not accept corruption. An anti-corruption code has set standards for all staff.

The anti-corruption efforts have taken a prominent role in the agenda for development cooperation everywhere. Corruption is frequently a serious problem in poorer countries to a degree where it has become an obstacle to development and eradication of poverty.

For many years, Danida has actively supported anti-corruption efforts, primarily through good governance programmes.

In 2003, Danida launched and action plan in order to make anti-corruption efforts an integrated part of our development cooperation.

The overall targets of the action plan are to prevent corruption within Danida's own organisation as well as in programmes and projects, where Danida is involved.

The action plan entails a number of specific activities, including training of our own staff on how to combat corruption. In Vietnam all embassy staff and Danida funded advisors go through this training programme.
