The Cultural Development and Exchange Fund each year awards an outstanding young Vietnamese artist with the CDEF talent prize.

Talent Prize 2014: "Climate Change in Photography"

One of the main objectives of the Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF) is to provide support to contemporary artists in Vietnam. Funds are each year earmarked a Talent Prize, which will be awarded to an outstanding young Vietnamese artist within a specific art sector.

Some of the themes during the last few years have been contemporary dance, performance art, paintings and architecture.

Talent Prize 2014 : Climate Change in Photography

In 2014, the Talent Prize theme was "Climate Change in Photography". Photography is an art form cultivated by many, and it has the capacity to capture and reflect different snapshots and perspectives in the development of our society. In a fast developing global world we are constantly faced with the consequences of climate change and environmental issues. The purpose of this contest is to explore how these issues and consequences are perceived and expressed in photography.

The Smart Phone Prize: the best photo taken with a smart phone, 6 million VND

The People's Choice Prize: the most popular photo voted online, 6 million VND

The Jury for Talent Prize 2014 consists of free-lance photographer and World Press Photo winner Ms. Maika Elan, Chief Photography Editor of Tuoi Tre Magazine Mr. Nguyen Hoai Linh and the well-known Danish photographer and experienced judge Mr. Michael Daugaard.
